Smart and Social Budapest – Win 4000 Euros for your Project!

Do you have a social enterprise and you don’t know how to fund it? Now you can win 4000 EUR with your project idea.Date: Tuesday (5th of December) 9:00 am – 6:00 pm

Venue: Impact Hub Budapest (2. Ferenciek tere, Budapest)

Program: Based on last years large number of applicants, the Royal Netherlands Embassy relaunches a call for proposal this year.

Do you have problems with creating a business model, conducting a successful crowd funding campaign, or looking for investment or alternative financial schemes for your organization? Come to the one-day workshop on the 5th of December in Budapest to find the best solutions for your organization.

There will be a 4000-EUR award for the most innovative financing model

At the end of the workshop, based on the pitches of the participants, the best proposal connecting social value to a sustainable business model, will be awarded with a 4000-EUR grant from the Royal Netherlands Embassy. This grant has the purpose to provide seed capital for the enterprise or team to work on and test its financing model.

The grant will be awarded to the most convincing pitch and judged by the following criteria:

– social impact
– sustainability of the proposed model/project
– inclusion of partnerships / amount of existing relations
– approach on how to apply budgets

Who can apply for the workshop?

Any organization or private person can apply with no restrictions on their legal status.

The projects would reflect on the main value of the Urban Agenda: connections among bottom-up ideas and municipality or state institutions; transparency, community building, social inclusion. Projects can focus on novel concepts, have social impact, be interdisciplinary and be within any discipline and address any theme in an urban context. We seek to strengthen knowledge-based innovation projects which are competitive and bold.

How to apply? 

If you are interested in this workshop, send a one pager summary in English of your project and concept to: smartandsocialbudapest@gmail.com highlighting the specific value of the project with special focus on its financial challenges. Only 16 applicants will be selected for the workshop.

Requested is a mission statement, vision and strategy in which you describe your idea or existing initiative.

• What do you need funding for?
• How do you make your business model sustainable?
• What are the expected results and social values?
• The plan should give a clear insight in the execution of the planned steps
• Budget overview for the short and long term development

Deadline of application: the 27th of November

Conditions:

Only those participating the workshop can get funded.
Budapest Activated, the Royal Netherlands Embassy are allowed to publish the contents and photos of the event and the submitted proposals through their communication channels. Reporting will be required from the awarded project after 6 months after the workshop
The aim of the 1-day workshop is to explore how social enterprises and community initiatives can use innovative financial schemes in order to ensure financial sustainability and their ability to scale up. By looking at Dutch, Hungarian best practice examples we aim at sharing good examples and explore the boundaries of different innovative means.

The programme is supported by the Royal Dutch Embassy.
