A number of Hungarian fake news pages have been deleted by Facebook from the social media site.Six Hungarian fake news pages (Káprázatos Club, NŐK Blogja, Magyarok Blogja, Világpolgár, 40 év felettiek közössége, A Tudás Fája) were found, then deleted by Facebook. The six Hungarian pages had altogether more than 100,000 followers.
Recently, these pages have been in the focus of attention when a Hungarian research scientist’s name was used by them: they illustrated their fake news with his photos and name. The deletion may also be related to the fact that many people reported these pages to Facebook because of the above mentioned scandal.
Behind the co-operating Facebook pages, there were web sites that were well-packed with advertisements, and the profit came from them.
