Last Wednesday, a delegation of 30 Hungarian and foreign professionals visited Airport Debrecen in order to learn about the history of the airport, current investment opportunities and the infrastructural development already carried out at the airport.

Tamás József Meleghegyi, CEO of Airport Debrecen pointed out that one of the biggest values of the airport is that the surrounding area hasn’t been built up yet which means that the development possibilities aren’t limited. Several hundreds of acres of land is available for constructing halls, service facilities and making investments that are important for cargo traffic. Sabrine Kalka project manager said that the aim of the project called B-team is that the members of the delegation coming from 14 cities of 11 European countries become familiar with the economic, environmental and land development problems arising on the brown field areas of different, similar-sized cities and help elaborate a long-term strategy in those areas by exchanges of experience.
