Fewer liquidation processes in Hajdú-Bihar County

Economy Local News

The number of liquidation processes has decreased during last year. The reason: companies don’t have enough money to pay the costs of liquidation processes.

Statistics show that the number of bankrupt companies in Hungary has grown by 32% in one year. In Hajdú-Bihar County, however, there is a slight, 10-15% decrease. Péter Szilágyi, Vice-president of the Hajdú-Bihar County Chamber of Commerce and Trade explained that in this case, statistics are illusive because in reality many bankrupt companies don’t have the financial means to start the liquidations.
According to experts, companies go broke because the consumer demand has fallen off and there are no investments to create jobs. Experts of economy also say that the situation isn’t likely to get better soon; more and more enterprises will become bankrupt.
