Five-Day-Long Basketball Event on Kossuth Square Starts Today

The five-day-long 3×3 basketball festival starts today (29th of August) on Kossuth square, Debrecen.Date: Wednesday – Sunday (29th of August- 2nd of September)

Program: 3×3 basketball festival in Debrecen is organized again this week.

In the first event of the program series, women’s national teams are fighting against each other. Five teams are going to play during the first session of the festival. The Hungarian team – with Dóra Medgyessy, Petra Szabó, Alexandra Theodorean and Nóra Ruják – will be playing with Russia, France, Romania and the Ukraine for the 5,000 USD grand prize.

The tournament offers a great opportunity to prepare for the adult European Championships which is held in mid-September, 2018.

On Thursday, professional men players can be watched, as the World Tour Masters’s Debrecen round starts on the 30th of August. Qualifiers start at 1:00 o’clock in the afternoon, with six teams playing in two groups, and the group winners will be added to the main table. At 3:20 pm, the main event will start: Novi Sad will be playing with Serbian Vrbas.

In the second match, we can see the Hungarian team (Team Budapest: Máté Mohácsi, Ákos Horváth, Balázs Kerpel-Fronius and Attila Demeter) who will be playing with Liman, the team who won last year’s competition. Ferenc Csirke’s players are having their second match at 5:25 pm against Serbian Ralja.
